Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 2, 2026

This policy covers The Drip, The Drip Suite, and The Drip for iPhone (together, the "Software"), published by Chad Waldo ("we," "us"), and this website. It explains what information the Software and site access, how it's used, and how it's stored.

The Software runs locally, on your own devices

The Drip and The Drip Suite are Windows desktop applications; The Drip for iPhone is an iOS companion app. There is no cloud server, no remote database, and no account system operated by us. Your prospect list, call and email activity, pipeline, and settings are stored in a local database on your own computer, inside your Windows user profile. We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to us.

Team sync (The Drip Suite)

If you enable team sync in The Drip Suite, the Software reads and writes files in a folder you choose inside a cloud storage service you already control — Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or iCloud Drive. Each teammate's desktop app publishes a copy of the shared pipeline into that folder and reads the others' updates; the syncing itself is done by that provider's own application on your devices. We operate no server in this process and never receive a copy of the folder or its contents. Your use of that cloud storage is governed by the provider's own privacy policy.

The short version for the iPhone app. The Drip for iPhone (bundle ID com.chadwaldo.TheDrip) has no account system and no server. It reads a snapshot of your sales data that the desktop app places in a cloud folder you choose, and writes small update files back to that same folder. That data stays in your storage and on your device. The app collects nothing, contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs, and sends nothing to the developer. Business-card text recognition runs entirely on your phone.

The Drip for iPhone

The Drip for iPhone is a free companion to the desktop app. It has no sign-in, no user profile, and connects to no server operated by us.

What the app stores on your device

All of this lives in the app's own storage and is removed when you delete the app. You can also clear the folder bookmark (“Forget folder”) and the pending queue (“Discard queued changes”) from Settings at any time.

Your sync folder

You choose a folder in a third-party file service — Apple iCloud Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar. The app reads the newest snapshot file the desktop app has published there, and writes small files describing activity you logged, calls you marked done, or cards you scanned. Syncing between your phone, that service, and your computer is performed by the file service's own app, not by The Drip. Your use of that service is governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy. The developer operates no server and never receives a copy of your folder, your snapshot, or your update files.

Camera and business cards

The camera is used only when you start a card scan. The photo is processed on your device with Apple's Vision framework to extract text; it is not uploaded anywhere and is not kept by the app after the scan. You review and edit every field before anything is saved.

Contacts

The app requests access to Contacts only when you tap “Save to Contacts.” Saving is done through Apple's standard New Contact screen — you confirm it, and iOS performs the write. The app does not read, scan, or upload your existing contacts.

Phone, Mail, Maps, and the web

Tapping a phone number, email address, directions, or website opens the matching Apple or system app (Phone, Messages, Mail, Maps, Safari). The Drip does not place calls or send messages or email itself.

Removing your data

Because the developer stores none of your data, there is nothing to request or delete from us. To remove the app's local data, delete the app. To stop it using your sync folder, choose “Forget folder” in Settings. Update files already written to your cloud folder are yours to manage there; the desktop app leaves them in place after importing, and you can delete them.

Google Account access (Gmail)

If you choose to connect a Gmail account, the Software uses Google's OAuth2 sign-in to request a single permission:

The Software does not request, and cannot access, the contents of your inbox, your contacts, or any other Google data. Your Google authorization token is stored locally on your machine (in your Windows %APPDATA% folder) and is used solely to authenticate outgoing send requests to the Gmail API. It is never sent to us or to any third party.

The Drip's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke this access at any time from inside the app (Settings → Disconnect Gmail) or directly from your Google Account permissions page.

Microsoft / Outlook access

If you use Outlook, the Software integrates with your local Outlook desktop installation to send email and, optionally, to scan your inbox for bounce and reply notifications so it can keep your outreach cadence up to date. This happens entirely on your machine through Outlook's local automation interface — no Outlook data is transmitted to us.

IMAP / SMTP mailboxes

If you configure a mailbox with its own SMTP and IMAP server details, the Software connects directly to that mail server to send your messages, file a copy in your Sent folder, and check for replies and bounces. Those credentials are stored locally on your machine and used only to talk to your mail provider. Nothing is routed through us.

Local AI connector (Claude Desktop)

The Drip includes an optional, off-by-default connector that lets Claude Desktop running on the same computer read your schedule and pipeline and log a call or note. It communicates only with the copy of The Drip running on your machine over a local connection; nothing is sent to the internet by the connector, and it cannot send email or edit existing records.

What we don't do

Purchase and license information

Purchases are processed by our payment provider, Payhip. Payhip collects the payment and contact information needed to deliver your license key and download link (such as your name and email address); we receive only what's necessary to fulfill your order and provide support. Payhip's handling of payment data is governed by its own privacy policy.

This website

This marketing site (dripcadence.com) uses analytics — Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Umami — to understand which pages are useful, and it records when a "Buy" button is clicked so we can tell the checkout is reachable. It does not use advertising cookies to build a profile of you across other sites. Checkout itself is hosted by Payhip. The desktop and mobile apps contain none of this.

Children's privacy

The Software is a business tool intended for adult sales professionals. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone; the iPhone app is rated 4+.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Material changes affecting the iPhone app will also be noted in that app's release notes.
